Thanks for stopping by! You’re right. The automated marketing tactics won’t get it.

FB is definitely a place to connect on a genuine level and that’s what I want with a fan page. Well, at least when I start a new one, it will be geared toward being authentic and personable.

Great tips Evelyn! So in essence the moral of the story is that people want authenticity in the fanpages they belong to as opposed to canned or automated mass marketing tactics. I agree. To me that’s exactly what separates FB from the pack is that ability to connect on such a genuine person to person level.

Yeah, I totally feel you on this.
If FB is something others enjoy, then that’s great. There is so much information out here on how to make a FB page awesome…it’s just time consuming for me.

I too enjoy engaging with my family and friends more so and I’m also spending more time on Twitter.

I’ve actually met more people in my niche on Twitter, since they’ve included a recommend follow section. I like that!

I have a FB page and sometimes I engage but usually I don’t. It’s because I’m busy engaging my FB friends and family! I don’t know that I’ll ever get the time to really do a lot of engaging on FB; that time for me needs to be spent blogging. But it’s also because I choose to spend the time on Twitter, too. For people who really love FB, it’s worth getting engaged there. I do encourage people to use it to their benefit and the benefit of others if it is something they enjoy!

It might have helped also that I had over 1000 friends on Facebook before I started blogging. I didn’t even have a Twitter account lol.

Well, I started the page sometime is April. I had 70 fans.

I can understand why your traffic initially came from Facebook, since you were a fanatic.
You’re moving and shaking around the net and I can see why you’re getting traffic from different places. Keep it up!

LOL, How long did you have your page up? I can definitely see how Twitter is more engaging though and I use to be a Facebook fanatic. Most of my traffic initially came from Facebook but now it is coming from all kinds of different places.
