I enjoyed your video. I have a neighbor similar to yours; he was in his 60's and lost well over 100 pounds and I had to give him props a few weeks back. As you note get rid of that visceral fat, bad news!

I made her listen to your video today. She was just laughing and was not serious. But guess what, I will do this a few times, make her listen to the video, as with age it takes longer to listen and really act.
I had to admit she is sick, she has lots of health problem and the reason she hates exercise is arthritis and gout, which is the worst pain anyone can get.
But since you have done the best, I am hoping she will eventually do something. she goes to the doctor regularly.
I will let you know.

Her health conditions stem from what she eats. Gout is simply a build-up of uric acid in her joints and this usually comes from eating red meat. I honestly believe that if she cut out certain foods and added what the body needs more of, then she would see a difference if not healing with her conditions.
I hope that she takes action. All you can do is share the information, it is up to her to take her health into her own hands. You are a good friend and I applaud you for trying to look out for her.

You're right - Bill Clinton is 64! You're also right about "as long as you have breath in your body you can lose weight." I think people always get caught in the trap of thinking I am too old to take care of myself or be more healthy and that is a huge fallacy.
Evelyn: Great video. It is cool to see you on camera and get your advice through a video post. I totally agree ... age is just a number. It is only a mindset. You are never too old to do anything that you put your mind to. Great post.

One of my friends has the opposite problem though. She is young and just eats whatever she wants you know. I try to tell her she can't keep that up or it will take a toll on her body. Even though you may look relatively thin, it is what's inside that counts.
I think a lot of us young people have the same issue. They wait until it is too late to start worrying about their health. By that time their body is falling apart and they think it is normal. Your body was not meant to just fall apart! Diabetis and all this other foolishness just doesn't come with old age!

No need to apologize for your passion. What you are saying is the truth! Younger people need to know this information and start early. Then they will see that they won't have those health issues they think is the normal process of aging. Keep sharing this with your friends!

I am the first person to be able to tell others what they need to do to lose the weight - but HELLO, look at me! I am about 60-70lbs heavier than I should be. (Though I must say I still look great!)
The hardest thing for me is to cut out the sugars - my addiction for fancy coffees turned my stomach and butt into a java-chip loving wreck!
I am your newest follower and I think you may have re-ignited my inspiration to lose the lard.
I do have a question though - How do you recommend someone goes about changing diet when they also cook for a husband who needs to lose about 30lbs but is in denial and he is incredibly picky? I also have a 5 year old but she eats anything!

I think sugar can get the best of any of us. Sugar is like a drug and is hard to shake. It really takes time to cut sugar out of the diet. I'm still working on that one, but the longer I stay on my path, the easier it has become for me to not crave sugar. There is an article someone where online that tells us the dangers of sugar. I can't think of it off hand, but you should be able to find it by doing a search.

That's a tough question, but it sounds like you both can work together to lose the weight. A heart to heart talk about what you want to accomplish and how it will be helpful to the both of you will probably do the trick. Find out what he likes and make the flavors pop. My husband is picky too and isn't trying to eat like me, but he is supportive. I rarely prepare meat and he's fine with that. I usually make a nice pot of beans/lentils, brown rice, kale and other vegetables packed with flavor and he's okay with that. Glad to know that you daughter eats anything, that means it will be easier for her to eat what you're eating.
Ex. I made spaghetti the other day and used whole wheat organic pasta along and the sauce was just that, sauce (fresh tomatoes from my garden of last year). Again, it was packed with so much flavor, one didn't need all the extra meaty stuff.
Hang in there and stay on your path. It does take time to do anything, but believe me, you will see results. It only takes one step and with that one step, you just keep on moving. ;)
If your friend really wants to lose weight, she needs to eat healthy and to maintain average daily intake. In this way, she will definitely lose weight once she knows how to discipline herself. I’m not telling her not to eat, but the amount of servings and type of food to eat are two of the most important factors that she must consider.
