Steamed Broccoli with 'Not' Cheese Sauce with a Stuffed Sweet Pepper with Pecan Pate

Hi Everyone!

I hope you are having a good Saturday.

I am doing a challenge with some fellow You Tubers and Friends on Facebook.  I am challenging myself to eat a very high raw vegan diet and to exercise at least 3-5 times a week for 30 days.  I’ll update you on how the first two-weeks have been in a future post.

I really enjoy eating broccoli and I especially love steamed broccoli.  I have never made a cheese sauce for broccoli so I decided to try it.  The raw vegan cheese sauce was a hit.

I had a lot of cheese sauce left over and I used it in salads and for vegetable crudites.

Raw Vegan Cheese Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 6 tablespoons of raw tahini
  • the juice of 1/2 of a lemon
  • Nutritional Yeast (gives it that cheesy taste)
  • Turmeric (gives it the yellow color)
  • your choice of salt seasoning (Celtic Salt, Spike, Liquid Aminos, etc)
  • Paprika
  • Onion Powder
  • Garlic Powder
  • Water
  • Season to Taste

Directions:  Blend all ingredients until smooth and creamy.  If the consistency is too thick add more water, but make sure you gradually add the water.  I did not add any measurements so make sure you season this sauce to your taste.  Enjoy!

This cheese sauce is a great recipe. I went Vegan in 2007 and used more nuts in my recipe but I have Tahini and will try yours this weekend.

    Hi Evelyn,
I love the recipe for the cheese sauce. I’m going to the grocery right away. We try to put sesame seeds in our salads too, just to get that extra calcium. I wish you luck on your 30 day experiment. I plan on starting a 20 day contest with my sister, beginning Halloween and ending Nov 20th. I need to drop (permanently) about 11 pounds. It will be a test!! Thanks for sharing and now I know I have a ‘comrade in arms’ working hard too!! I’ll check in with you again.
