How to Get More Interaction on your Facebook Page
Do you have a Facebook Page for your blog? I do, you can check it out when you can. The purpose of this post is not to promote my Facebook Page, but to share with you what I notice about successful Facebook Pages.
What makes for a successful Facebook Page?
The first thing that probably comes to your mind is that a successful Facebook Page has a thousands of fans.
But just because a Facebook Page has thousands of fans doesn’t mean anything. Pay attention to what the administrator of the page shares and how they interact and engage with their fans. This says a lot about the page you decided to like and follow
Is the Facebook Page only focused on their information, products and services? There is nothing wrong with a Facebook Page promoting what they do, but it becomes old when the only thing they promote is themselves.
People love to get to know the person behind the Facebook page, it makes things a little more personable. This ultimately results in more people wanting to learn as much as they can about what you offer.
Getting More Interaction
I am not an expert on this topic, I’m still learning. However, I do pay close attention to other Facebook Pages and how they do things. This is what I have noticed:
1. The administrator of the Facebook Page shows up everyday. There is always something the administrator shares and they usually post on their wall at least 2-3 times a day.
2. The administrator shares beneficial information. Not only is there helpful and beneficial information being shared, but when fans ask questions (good or bad), they always respond in a professional way.
3. The administrator encourages participation. Sometimes the administrator will share a quote that resonates with their fans and ask the fans to give it a thumbs up if they agree. Some ask questions that relate to their niche and this usually gets a lot of participation too.
4. The administrator talks to their fans and not at them. The fans always know when you are present on your page. Automatically feeding information to your page is good, but it is even better when you manually share information too. I see more interaction when the administrator shares information manually.
5. The administrator replies to everyone in a timely manner. One way to know when a fan writes on your wall or asks you questions, is to sign up for alerts. I use Hyper Alerts and I get alerted (real-time) via email when someone has posted on my page. This way, you can always reply to the person in a timely manner.
Stick with It
It is easy to get discouraged when you don’t see much activity from your fans on your Facebook Page. I got discouraged before and closed down my first Facebook Page.
It wasn’t long, before I created new one. I’m glad I created a new Facebook Page, because I have met people interested in the topics I share. They also inspire and help me with the information they share.
Don’t give up, keep showing up on your Facebook page. Do the best you can and all that you want will come. Just hang in there and don’t quit.

Hi Evelyn,
Thank you for this great info. I am also still learning about the Facebook interaction and the right way to do it. At the moment I don’t have an actual fan page, because I feel a bit silly having it, so I just invite my readers to add me as a friend. If my friend requests overflow ( and they definitely haven’t ) then I will create a page.
But lately I did notice more interaction from my readers. I would as them about what they want to see, I ask them their opinions on my videos and which format they like better. I also ask them to vote which workout they want me to do. And of course I take all of their advice and implement it. I also thank them for their votes as well.
Sometimes I do post quotes and just general things about my every day, and I also try to comment on their posts and pictures, it makes me feel much closer to my readers.

Hey Tatianna,
That sounds pretty good. You don’t have to create a page, especially since what you’re doing is working for you. Sounds like you have everything planned very well.
Yeah, you ask questions and post little tidbits that are interesting and much more. I think you’re good at it.
Thanks for sharing!

GREAT TIPS, Evelyn! FB and the social media is the heartbeat of everything I do with my brand because it puts me directly in touch with the people who follow my work. Invaluable asset to be on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and everywhere else. You do it very well my friend. Hope you are doing well.

Hey Jimmy! Thanks.
So glad you stopped by.
You do it very well, too Jimmy! I see you. I’ve been a little lazy with Goolge+, but I’ll get to it.
I’m doing fine, could be better, but I won’t complain. I hope you and yours are doing well.
It is always a pleasure talking with my classmate.
Take care and keep up the good work!!
Evelyn
Great post!
I need to follow these tips because I tend to neglect my Facebook page in favor of Twitter.
Thanks for reminding me of the importance of interaction and consistency.

Thanks, Monique!
I never would have known that if you hadn’t said anything.
I see you working both very well, not to mention You Tube. Keep it up!
Take care,
Evelyn
