22 Easy Ways to Lose Weight

Are you trying to lose weight, but finding it hard to lose the first pound? Losing weight is actually not all that hard. Weight loss is something that you have to work at.

The weight will not come off over night. Why? Because it took time for you to pick up the added weight and it will take you some time to lose the weight.

Don’t be suckered into believing that there is a magic pill, that will miraculously melt away all of your excess pounds. Because there isn’t one!

The best diet for losing weight is a simple diet. Nothing outrageous, but one that is easy as pie to follow. Guess what it is? It is found in nature and it is not found in bottle, box or can.

Here are 21 ways you can lose weight and keep it off for good.

1. Cleanse and detoxify (mind, body and spirit).

2. Eat less.

3. Don’t eat anything that is white (sugar, flour, salt, rice, bread, etc).

4. Exercise at least 3 times a week for 30 minutes.

5. Drink water first thing in the morning and make sure you drink it through    out the day.

6. Drink green smoothies (fruit and savory ones).

7. Drink fresh juices, preferably green vegetable juices.

8. Eliminate processed foods.

9. Eliminate dairy products, find substitutes.

10. Eat whole, fresh foods found in nature (fruit, vegetables, grains, beans, legumes, seeds and nuts)

11. Don’t eat constantly, allow time for your digestive system to rest.

12. Eat your biggest meal when it is daylight.

13. Eat a large salad everyday.

14. Eat less animal products. Make sure these are low in fat.

15. Eat foods high in fiber.

16. Find a buddy that will hold you accountable.

17. Eliminate stress in your life.

18. Get plenty of rest.

19. Surround yourself with like minded people.

20. Incorporate dry skin brushing.

21. Don’t put junk (chips, cookies, cakes, etc) in you body temple (junk in junk out, healthy in healthy out).

22.  Be disciplined and focused on your goal.

If you incorporate these 22 things, then you will feel and see a difference in your overall health and well being. Mark my word on this, because it worked for me.

I went from 152 pounds to 108 pounds by doing the things listed above and then some. Granted it took some time for this weight to go away, but the main thing is that the extra weight is gone.

One thing is for sure, you must not be focused on losing weight. You must be focused on becoming a healthier you. Becoming a healthier you, takes time and persistence. But if you stick with it you will lose the weight, not only that you will maintain a healthy weight almost effortlessly.

Have anything to add, feel free to do so.

Become a healthier you, one day at a time!

I like your #17 point! Well, eating is the most effective way for girls to fight their depression. In that way, they tend to gain weight because of non-stop eating. They enjoy it most while watching their favorite tv series, movies, etc. Unknowingly, they eventually gain weight with their eating habits.

    • Hi Mike,
      Welcome!

Depression can do it. But I also find that when I get depressed, I will not eat at all. Some people handle depression differently. However, I do think that more take to eating.

      Thanks for sharing!

      Take care,

      Evelyn

Yup! Overall, just focus on your goal. If losing weight is what you really want, then you’ll surely achieve it once you stick to all your planned activities in reaching your goals. It’s a part of self-discipline anyway.

      • Hi Mike,

        Thanks for sharing!

Sticking to a plan and having self-discipline are key!

        Take care,

    Hi Evelyn:

Today is my first time on your blog. I meant to do that for last few days, but I made it tonight.

I read your blog post how to take care of extra pounds. You have made it so easy.

I do not think I can loose some body fat by doing all that you have said. It is not much effort and without effort at least I can not loose weight.

I have a friend she wants to loose some weight and can not do so. She is retired and stays home. She says because she is so old she can not lose weight.

What do you say about her. I need your opinion or suggestions please.

    • Hi Fran,
Thanks for stopping by for the first time and leaving a comment!

You don’t have to lose weight by doing all that I suggested. I think if you do a few of the things, then you should see and feel a difference in your body. Don’t ever think that you can’t do something. It only takes making small changes and those small changes soon add up to big changes. Before you know it you will be where you desire.

      RE: Your friend.

I have recently started a frequently asked questions category and I will be glad to answer your question in greater detail on Thursday. Your question is the first submitted and the first I will answer. Yay..I like that. It is a very good question that I think many people have these days.

I don’t believe that a person is ever too old to lose weight. It has more to do with how much food a person consumes as well as the kinds of foods one is eating. Couple that along with not moving the body and the weight will not burn off..it will only continue to add up. Tell your friend that I will address this issue more on Thursday.

      Thanks and take care,

      Evelyn

Great job Evelyn. I wrote down some of your tips. Tell me, why eliminate dairy?

I also like what you said about junk food. When I tell others this, they say “you can eat anything in moderation.” I disagree. To me, you must let it go.

You give such good advice. Please continue the good work.

    • Evelyn says:

      Hi Michelle,
      Thanks for stopping by!
There are so many reasons why one should eliminate dairy. To start dairy/milk is mucus forming in the body and dairy is fattening. For me eliminating dairy helped lessen the problems I had with fibroid tumors.

      Thanks for your support!

      Take care!

Excellent article and thanks for the reminder. You are absolutely right in that it must be a lifestyle choice and to keep it simple.

    Hi Evelyn,

Those are great tips, many congrats to you for shedding those pounds. Did you lose that all adapting an all raw food diet, or was it just making healthier food choices?

When I was 100% raw, one of my coworkers shed a lot of weight too. She imitated a lot of my food choices. My issue was not losing weight, since I didn’t need to lose anything. I opted for healthy fats, and upping the amount of raw food I was consuming.

I agree with Sudeep; it’s great to surround yourself with like-minded people. That can make achieving your goals a lot more easily.

    • Evelyn says:

      Thanks!

I didn’t lose it all adopting a raw food diet. When I ventured into eating raw foods, I weighed 117 pounds. Initially I did the Master Cleanse and gradually changed to a vegetarian diet and went from there. I didn’t set out to lose weight, I was healing myself. The weight just came off.

Eating a mostly raw food diet, has helped maintain my weight and it is amazing to me how that works.

Thanks for stopping by, it’s always a pleasure! 😉

    Evelyn,

These are some great tips, wow you are 108 lbs now, that is cool. I feel like I need to lose about 5 -7 lbs more to feel better. I am on it now. Thanks for the motivation.

    • Evelyn says:

      Hi Preeti! 🙂

Thanks! You can lose the pounds in no time. That’s not very much! 🙂

Hey Evelyn, I saw this article on my “Vegan Daily” :-)! I’m starting to love this newspaper thing more and more. Thanks to you, I have a new accountability partner in Carolyn Akens. She’s been wonderful in a short amount of time. Sadly, there isn’t any new revelation here about what we should do (not for me anyway) because I’m always on a quest to be fit. Even sadder, I’m always the first one to eat things I shouldn’t. 🙁 Nonetheless, thank you for your example … stay tuned for my accomplishments! Hopefully it will be posted even sooner than I anticipate.

By the way, @HealthyOpal is the one who shared this link that was in my daily.

      Hi Kissie!
Thanks for letting me know about “Vegan Daily.” 🙂
Ms. Carolyn is a remarkable lady. She will definitely hold you accountable. 😉
As long as you know the things you shouldn’t eat and you move forward, you are doing well. Don’t ever be too hard on yourself!

I can’t wait to see you accomplishments. Keep hanging!
