The Products
I received two free Moksa Organics products, via Vegan Cuts; the organic body butter and bar soap. The fragrance I have is the Kilimanjaro (cocoa vanilla).
The body butter and the bar soap are I.F.A.W products, which means that when you buy either product a designated dollar amount is dedicated to the International Fund for Animal Welfare.
This helps to fund the Animal Action Education Program that works to raise awareness and empower action to protect endangered species and animals in crisis.
The packaging of both products is very nice. The body butter comes in a dark brown glass jar and the bar soap comes neatly wrapped. They use soy ink for the label print.
The Body Butter
I enjoy using body butters, but do not use them too much during the warmer months, because they are usually too greasy and heavy. I can use the Moksa Body Butter all year round, because it is not too greasy and heavy.
I received the body butter in good condition. I mention this, because in the past, when I ordered body butters from other companies, the butter would be melted and the consistency unappealing.
Kilimanjaro Organic Body Butter (cocoa vanilla)
Ingredients: Organic Fair Trade Shea Butter, Organic Fair Trade Cocoa Butter, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Sweet Almond Oil, Organic Arrow Root Powder.
Price: $16
Size: 6 ounces (184 g)
I received the Moksa Organic Body Butter in the Kilimanjaro scent (cocoa vanilla). Initially, I did not like the smell of the body butter, but once I applied the body butter to my skin, I found the fragrance very nice.
The texture of the Moksa Organic Body Butter is unlike any texture of body butter that I have tried. I love the texture, because it reminds me of a firm mousse (airy texture) and it is not greasy. This butter melts very well, goes on to the skin very smooth and easy.
I thought the Moksa Organic Body Butter would leave a greasy, heavy coating on my skin, but to my surprise this was not the case. There is a slight greasy feel, but it is not heavy and it fades away quickly.
It leaves my skin moisturized and soft all day. I could not stop touching my skin, because it was so soft and smooth.
The fragrance (kiliamanjaro-cocoa vanilla), was a little strange to me in the jar and I thought I was not going to like the fragrance. But after applying the butter to my skin, I must say, the fragrance is nice with a hint of vanilla.
It has a light cocoa fragrance with a hint of vanilla. What I love about the scent is that it is very light and it is not over powering. Overall the Moksa Organic Body Butter (kilimanjaro-cocoa vanilla) is a winner.
It smells good, is reasonably priced, organic and provides the skin with long lasting moisture. I highly recommend that you try this body butter, your skin will thank you.
Kilimanjaro Organic Bar Soap
Ingredients: Organic Saponified Oils of Olive, Coconut, Soybean, Castor, Hemp, Babassu, Organic Fair Trade Shea Butter, Organic Fair Trade Cocoa Butter: Our blend of pure essential oils; rosemary extract.
Price: $6.50
Size: 6.5 ounces
I received the Moksa Organic Bar Soap in the Kilimanjaro scent (cocoa vanilla). I was not a fan of the scent, but after using the soap, I found the scent very clean, fresh and pleasant.
I love the look and feel of the soap. The organic bar soap, lathered very well, but the lather was not overwhelming. I prefer this type of lather, which is soft and clean.
I think this soap can be used on your facial skin as well as your whole body. I took a chance used it on my face and it did not dry out my skin or cause any break outs, which is a plus.
Overall, the Moksa Organic Body Bar (kilimanjaro- cocoa vanilla), is a good soap. There is a slight difference in the smell of the soap and the body butter, I guess because it smells more herbal and it does have essential oils and rosemary extract that makes it smell a little different than the body butter.
The bar soap smells good, is reasonably priced, for the size, rinses clean, and leaves your skin smooth and soft. I highly recommend that you try this bar soap.

Moksa organics has outdone itself with the butter line. The older I get the more I find that it is hard to keep my skin hydrated. Unfortunately, there aren’t many brands available that are chemical free or within my price range. This product is both of those and so much more. As cold and flu season approaches, I find that I am washing my hands with more frequency, but using this product soap has combated the drying effectsl. This is truly an amazing product and the fragrance, well…it is simply heavenly as well. Thanks for giving us such an amazing product!

You’re right about there not being many brands that are chemical free.

These sound really good. I’m scaling back on what I buy. I think I’m pretty confident in what I’m using. I usually buy my soaps from either butters n bars or from Young Living. For the hair, I’m turned on to mango butter mixed with my oil conconction 🙂

Hi Michelle,
I’m scaling back myself. I’ve heard of butters and bars and Young Living, but I’ve never used anything from these companies.
I think you’re on to something. I’ve been using Jane Carter’s Nourish and Shine and it has mango butter in it. It smells divine.
Thanks for stopping by and chiming in!

Hi Evelyn,
they need to stop doing vanilla and chocolate soaps, cause I fell like eating those!:) But anyway, it seems that these guys really sell great products.
Evelyn Parham says
Hey Mairella!
I hear you. The body butter is the one I could eat. It has a soft vanilla and chocolate smell and after using it, I can’t stop sniffing it. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!

$6,50 seems pretty reasonable for a bar of organic soap (considering the discount it sounds even better), I have paid more for what seemed like inferior products a few times. I will give this soap a try, thank you for the review!

Hi Valentina!
I think it is resonably priced, plus it lasts and doesn’t wash/melt away so fast.
Thanks for stopping by!
