10 Reasons for Giving Thanks (Series – Week 1)

November 7, 2014 by Evelyn Parham

Today is the first week for Giving Thanks series. The idea to do a post like this comes from Lori of Special Connection Homeschool Blog. Lori and I both homeschool our daughters who have Down syndrome and I have learned a lot from her.

Even though I don’t usually post articles like this, but today I begin writing this series, because there is so much I am thankful for and I often fall short in expressing thankfulness.  Sometimes we are so focused on what we don’t have until we ignore how blessed we truly are.

Let’s get started.

10.  I am thankful for those who support my vision and read this blog. There are (many) times when I want to stop blogging and sharing. Because I sometimes feel that I am wasting my time, but when I feel like quitting, that’s when I hear from you. You send me messages and let me know that you appreciate what I do and that I inspire you. You tell me to keep doing what I am doing. You also share me with others. Getting feedback when I need it the most is miraculous and it keeps me working and moving towards my goal.

9.  I am thankful for being a student at the Institute for the Psychology of Eating. I am now training to become an Eating Psychology Coach and it has transformed me more than I could ever imagine. The training I have received thus far has opened my mind to a whole new world. I was once a person who was close minded when it came to diet and nutrition, but now I am open-minded. I understand that everything doesn’t work for everyone and there is more than one way in achieving optimal health and well-being.

8.  I am thankful for an amazing mentor. I have a mentor who probably doesn’t realize that she is a mentor, but I’m sure after she reads this post she will know. My mentor sees what I do and knows what I share with others. She is always encouraging and motivating me to not settle for less. She never tells me to do more, but she gently prods me or should I say, plants the seeds. She is truly a diamond in the rough.

Stay tuned for next week.

Until next time….
