7 Warning Signs That You Chose the Wrong Diet

January 25, 2016 by Evelyn Parham

warning-signsHave you ever wondered if the diet you follow is the right diet for you? You have conflicting thoughts about your diet because your body is sending you warning signs, but you keep telling yourself you are in a normal adjustment period.

You also tell yourself the diet is the best because everyone else claims the diet works for them and, of course, it is the best diet on the face of the planet.

Several months later, you still have concerns within your body that you know should not be happening. Today I share with you 7 warning signs that you chose the wrong diet.

7 Signs Warning Signs That You Chose the Wrong Diet

1. You have low-to-no energy.

Your diet should give you energy that sustains you throughout the day. If your energy is always low, then there is something wrong.

2. You are always hungry.

The food you eat on the diet you follow should keep you satiated for a good 2-4 hours. You may have to snack at the 2-hour mark, but for the most part, constant hunger should not be an issue.

3. You have cloudy/poor brain function.

Cloudy/poor brain function is usually caused by the lack of healthy fats in the diet; specifically DHA. If your consumption of healthy fats is low, you may want to add healthy fats to your diet.

4. You have mood swings.

Your mood should be stable most of the time. However, when the body is lacking/deficient in certain nutrients it shows up on your mood.

5. You have fast weight gain.

Eating a healthy diet should not result in fast weight gain if you do not need to gain weight. Fast weight gain lets you know that the diet you are trying so hard to follow is not the best diet for your body.

6. You lose muscle.

Muscle loss happens to people who are not consuming enough macronutrients to support lean body mass. You do not want to lose muscle, but rather keep what you have and build muscle if muscle-building is your goal.

7. You develop inflammation.

Your diet should not cause inflammation, but instead, it should reverse, decrease or even end inflammatory responses in your body.

Final Words

Be wise enough to listen to your body and humble enough to make changes even when you do not want to change.

Be willing to bend so that your body does not break. You only get one body and when your body speaks; listen.

Excellent! Great information, Evelyn. All diets are not created equal and once people realize that it will benefit them in so many ways.
