Discover the Best Diet for You

January 11, 2016 by Evelyn Parham

discover-best-dietHow many of you get confused about the type of diet you need to eat? I am sure many of you have dealt with dietary confusion at some time in your life.

I am no stranger to dietary confusion.

Some of you are probably confused now, but I will give you a few simple ways to discover the best diet for you.

Stop the Nutritional Information Overload

Today, we have access to a wealth of nutritional information.  The information can be quite overwhelming and confusing.

There are many experts who say that their diet is the best diet.  You try the diet and after giving the diet a test run, you discover that it is not the best diet for you.

You move on to the next new diet to try. But you soon discover this diet is also not the best diet for you.

You think you know what to do because you have gathered information, but the diets keep failing you.

Too much nutritional information causes information overload.  The result is confusion and frustration which causes you to give up and we do not want that.

Discovering the Best Diet for You

We make eating a healthy diet hard because we look to others to tell us how, when and what to eat without ever checking in with our bodies.

Here are a few simple ways to discover the best diet for you.

Do not be afraid to try new dietary approaches. Sometimes you stick with a certain dietary approach because an expert said, “This is the way and the truth.” You are fearful of straying from what you believe is best for you, so you stick with it even when you know it is not the best dietary approach for you.

If what you are doing clearly is not working for you, try a different approach.

Do not be close-minded.  There is a saying, “Change your mind, change your life.” The world of diet and nutrition is vast and if you want to truly find the best diet, your mind has to be open to doing what may seem out of the norm to get the results you want.

Listen to your body’s wisdom.  Do you really know how to listen to your body’s wisdom?  If you eat a certain food and it upsets your digestion or gives you a headache, stop eating that food.  It does not matter who says the food is the best food ever.  The food does not agree with you, therefore, it is not the best food ever for you.

You better listen!

Do your research.  If you are curious about a certain diet, research the diet and consult with a professional.  Learn as much as you can about the way of eating before you try it.

Knowledge is power and it leads to success.

Do what feels right for you.  It does not matter what others around you are doing, never feel you have to conform to their way of eating.  Besides, the diet they are eating may not be the best diet for you.  Always do what feels right for you; mind, body and spirit.

Everyone is different and everything is not for everybody.

Final Words

The best diet is the diet that you can stick with for the long-haul and a diet that does not cause nutritional deficiencies.

You may have to make some changes along the way, but confusion about your diet should not exist especially after discovering the best diet for you.

Eat whole food, eat real food.
