“Believe you can, and you’re halfway there” – Theodore Roosevelt.
Do you believe you can lose the weight, get fit, manage stress, boost energy, or stick with lifestyle changes?
Making lifestyle changes is not easy. It takes persistence, consistency, and believing that you can.
Giving Up
When change is not happening as fast as you want, doubt creeps in and believing you can is nowhere around.
What happens? You give up because results are not coming fast enough.
Assess the Situation
Not getting the results anticipated is not a reason to stop working on your lifestyle changes.
It is a time for you to take a closer look at what you are doing and what you are not doing.
There is a reason why you are not getting the desired results. It is not the time to quit. It is the time to get to design a different game plan so you can get back in the game and play harder.
Believe You Can
Some of us give up before we ever get started. One of the main reasons for this is because we don’t believe we can achieve the goal.
Sure we know what to do and how to do, but when it comes to having faith that you can do it, you don’t have any belief at all.
Believing you will reach your goal has to be present the first day you start making a change. If there is any doubt, then you have already set yourself up for failure.
You’ll Get There
I know it seems like you will never lose the weight, get fit, or see the changes manifest, but one thing you already have is a belief in yourself and that you can.
As long as you believe and you are willing to course correct along the way without quitting, then you’ll get there or should I say you are halfway there.
When times get tough, and you want to quit, remember why you started.
Take care.
