This weekend, I read a Kindle book, The Clients You are Seeking are also Seeking You, written by Karen Cappello, Master Certified Coach, and there was one point from the book that I felt compelled to share with you. It is about doing what feels right to you: pay attention to your energy. How do you know that you are making the right decisions in life?
I learned that each of us has a personality type or an aura of energy that radiates for all the world to see.
Some of us have bubbly, peaceful, calm, controlled, or compassionate dispositions.
When faced with making decisions and it does not matter what it is, we sometimes make choices based on what we think others would do or what we see others doing around us.
We do not pay attention to the energy that we naturally have. And so, we ignore the Spidey sense and go with what feels comfortable and familiar.
Karen Cappello mentions in her book that when faced with situations/decisions that if we are a bubbly, peaceful or calm person, usually, we will feel that way within and not uncomfortable.
A True Story
The aura that I radiate is calming and peaceful. I am naturally a laid back person.
There have been times when I have bought online information products and services.
Sometimes, I did not feel peaceful and calmness before buying the online products and services, but I bought them anyway.
Most of the time after spending the money, I discovered that I had wasted my money because the products and services were not what I expected.
I share this story with you because I should have felt peace and calm before making the purchases, but I had a feeling of uneasiness.
Little did I know I should have paid attention because if I had paid attention, I would have saved time, money, and energy.
Doing What Feels Right to You
The next time you make a decision, notice how you feel before you make the decision.
Do you feel the energy that you naturally carry rising in you? If you do not sense your aura of energy kicking in, then play it safe.
Making Lifestyle Changes
Let’s relate this lesson to making healthy lifestyle changes. If specific eating habits, fitness routines, or self-care rituals feels right for you, then do it.
However, if the lifestyle changes you are making does not feel right, then take a closer look at it and make some changes.
Change a few things, so you feel comfortable. Course correcting is okay.
When we feel good about what we do, then it is easy for us to stick with our plan of action.
Final Words
When we know our energies, personalities, quirks and how we typically are in everyday life, then we can apply that to every area of our lives.
Being in tune with the energy that we exude is powerful because it helps us stay true to the essence of who we are as a person as well as our core values.
Until next time.
Take care of you and OWN IT!
