I grew up in a place which had lots of fruit. When I see baskets of fruit my heart aches because they are too expensive where I live now. I just try two a day at most. I try to have an apple because I remember we used to read as kids that an apple a day keeps the doctor away! I love melon – its quite cheap at the moment!

      Hi Susana!

I totally understand about things being too expensive. I wanted to buy some apples yesterday, but I didn’t because I wasn’t paying $5 for 2 apples. I think those fruits that are in season, tend to be cheaper than those that are not in season. Apples are not in season, so I guess that’s why they are so high in my area.

      Thanks for chiming in!

I didn’t know apples prevent infections. So an apple a day really does keep the doctor away…

    Thanks

you can get and they taste so good. Try carrot chips.

Yes, I definitely find it challenging to eat the recommended fruits. It is also incredibly expensive and is exactly why we currently have 6 fruit tree’s and a blueberry bush growing. 🙂 We just planted them this year and so hopefully in a few years we will have delicious, organic fruits available for our large family of 7.

    Great post!

      Hi Victoria!

Yes, it is expensive! But you have the right idea.

I planted a blueberry bush a year or so ago and it died. Maybe I’ll try it again.

      Thanks,

      Evelyn
