When is the best time for making lifestyle changes?

April 23, 2018 by Evelyn Parham

lifestyle changeWhen is the best time for making lifestyle changes? You tell yourself, “I’ll make better food choices, start walking, or meditating tomorrow.” Each day that passes by brings no changes, only empty promises.

The best time is when you are ready.

Knowing You Must Make Changes

I knew when I needed to make lifestyle changes, but when I realized it, I didn’t immediately start.

At the time, I didn’t know what to do, and the act of making lifestyle changes didn’t grab my attention.

One day, I did research, and I realized that what the nurse recommended made sense.

And so, I thought, just maybe I should try this and see what happens.

Knowing led me to do research, and it helped me understand how and why I needed to change.

You Must Do

Now that you know what to do, it is time to put action with your knowledge.

It is not enough to know what to do; you have to do it. Doing is the only way to see for yourself the benefits of lifestyle changes have for you.

When you make lifestyle changes, you’ll probably have to course correct a few times, but the main thing is that you do it.

You will never make lifestyle changes if you don’t jump in and do it. You cannot wait until everything is perfect because perfect doesn’t exist for anyone.

Stick with a Plan

You make lifestyle changes, and occasionally, you may need to tweak your plan, and that’s okay.

The most important thing is that you stick with what you are doing and keep learning as you go.

You may not get where you want to go right away but trust the process; you will get there if you don’t quit.

Bottom Line

Knowing you have to change is good, but doing is even better.

The best time for making lifestyle changes is when you know you can do it and when you are willing to do what it takes.

You cannot do anything until you are ready.

Until next time.

Take care of you!
