How to Make a Quick and Easy Vegan Pizza

June 10, 2011 by Evelyn Parham

I love pizza, but as a vegan it is a little hard trying to make one that is tasty and nutritious at the same time.

I have made a pizza with Daiya cheese (okay, but not my favorite) and another using a recipe provided by Tracye Mcquirter.

A while ago, I did a review of By Any Greens Necessary and this book is one that left a lasting impression on me.  It helped me get on the vegan track and stay there.

One of the recipes in By Any Greens Necessary is a Big Mush Pizza.  I tried it some time ago and I really liked it.  I cannot wait to make it again.

The Big Mush Pizza is very tasty, nutritious and easy to make.  Give it a try, I’m sure you will love it.

Below is a video of Tracye McQuirter showing you how to make the Big Mush Pizza.  It’s really good!  Enjoy!

Evelyn, thanks so much for sharing this! I definitely want to be able to make my own pizza. Buying vegan can be costly & disappointing with some of the ingredients used. She made this really simple and doable.

I must say that the more I read your articles, the more I get fascinated about a healthy life and vegetarianism.
Anyways, about the article- I have always been a pizza enthusiast no matter how much it adds to my calories, so loved it. Would surely try it this weekend! Wait, that’s already it 🙂

Awesome recipe! I’m not vegan myself but eat a lot of vegetarian and vegan foods. My housemate of many years has been vegan for over a decade. Some vegan recipes can be totally delicious – I’ve had so many good ones (and unfortunately some not so great ones too..!)

    Hi Evelyn,

You made me hungry 😉 I love pizza too On a side note, which has more fat in it, pizza or hamburgers? Thanks Evelyn

      Hey Dia,

That’s a good question. I really don’t know for sure, but I’ll have to make a wild guess that hamburgers have more fat. The only fat on a pizza would be the cheese, maybe a little in the crust and if one likes meat toppings then you figure that in too.

      Have a great weekend!

I love vegan burgers. I am not very fond of pizza. In India, vegan burgers are quite poplar and pizzas are becoming popular.

      Hi HB,

I’ll be experimenting with making some different types of vegan burgers. They are better when homemade.

Pizza is becoming popular too, that’s great! 🙂

Take care and enjoy your weekend!
