3 Ways I Prepared for Spring Detox – 2014

April 16, 2014 by Evelyn Parham

made-to-happenAs I type this article, I am on day-3 of my spring detox.  I feel good and I am also learning more about myself as well as eating clean.

If I had not prepared myself, I probably wouldn’t have the determination to keep following Carolyn’s Spring Detox Protocol.

I don’t know about you, but when I want to reach a goal, I have to prepare myself for success.  Failing to plan leads to failure and I will not fail.

Here are three ways I prepared myself for having a successful spring detox.

#1  Mental Preparation

The first thing that you must do is think about how you will succeed.  Your mind must be conditioned and set for success.  If you don’t have your mind focused for success, then you will not succeed.

I unplugged from the internet for a day, turn off my cell phone, and focused  on getting my mind clear of all the noise, that sometimes cause distractions.  That experience was eye opening, because I realized that there is a real life to be lived outside of the internet and social media sites.

I also visualized myself having clean, healthy cells, brighter eyes, clearer skin, a flatter stomach, and more energy.  If you can see it, you can achieve it.  You will do as you think.

#2  Physical Preparation

It takes you doing something to reach your goals.  If you don’t do what you have to do, then how will you get to where you want to be.

I read the materials provided by Carolyn.  After reading the materials, I went out and bought the items that Carolyn recommended.  I can’t imagine how I would feel now, if I hadn’t read the materials and bought the foods and tools that she recommended.  I would be ill prepared and probably be stressed out by now.  I’m sure I would have called it quits, before I ever got started.

The days leading up to the spring detox start date, I started focusing more on my food choices and cutting out those processed foods that I know were not permitted during the detox.  As a result, I haven’t had any cravings for those foods.

#3  Action Preparation

Once you have prepared mentally, (which includes much more than I mentioned above) and physically, it is time for you to move into action.

Nothing can be done if you don’t take action.  Things just don’t happen, you have to make them happen.

Take action and keep moving!

Final Words

Preparation is the key to achieving that which you have set out to accomplish.  Preparation helps you have little to no stress and most of all, it sets you up for success.

The next time you want to do something, think about it and ask yourself, “Do I really want to do this?”  You will get the answer to your question, but you have to listen to yourself and not to all the other noise that can easily have you second guessing yourself.

Whatever it is that you want, start preparing yourself for success.  You can never be too prepared.

Actions speak louder than words.  Make what you want, happen.  It’s up to you.

hi Evelyn – I love to read stuff like this, i Want to share my thoughts – you’ll need to get support from your family, co-workers, and friends. If you can join a group detox program, even better! Holistic health coaches’ programs include the recipes and how, to’s, but also a lot of coaching and support

Thank you for sharing your journey. Go forth and conquer! Your words of wisdom are so in line with the WORD.

Meditation and Preparation lead to success. It is all found in one of my favorite scriptures (Joshua 1:8),

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
