The last time you read something from me was August 10th, 2023. Sixteen months is a long time not to post to my blog. So, you know this blog is dead, but I will bring it back to life, you will see.
Why I Stopped Publishing Blog Posts
I stopped writing here because YouTube had my attention. I made content for two YouTube channels but must let go of one of them.
As I write this blog post, my mind is at peace. All I have on my mind are my thoughts and words, which flow through my fingers to the keyboard into the Word document, which feels so good.
Why Goals and Not Resolution?
I stopped making resolutions years ago because I never kept them. I just went on with life as usual without ever making any changes.
Today, I set goals because they are measurable, actionable, and doable—they set me up for success.
Goals are specific; when we get specific with what we want to achieve, we usually reach our goals. So, setting goals works best for me.
Goals for 2025
- Spend time with God by praying and reading my Bible. I purchased a planner and journals and downloaded a Bible reading plan.
- Write by hand daily. I have a journal designated for morning pages – pages where I write freely about whatever comes to my mind.
- Lose (blank pounds). I will keep the number of pounds I want to lose to myself. I have a wellness planner to keep me on track.
- Increase my fitness. I have a fitness plan and will use my wellness planner and a fitness tracker.
- Eat a healthy and balanced diet. I will plan, prep, and track my calories. I also have a wellness planner to keep me on track.
- Adequate rest. I have a set time to be in bed and a set time to rise. To ensure I stick with my plan, I turn off all digital devices at a designated time and unwind while doing non-stimulating activities.
- Drink an adequate amount of water. I will fill my water bottle, drink it, and log it.
- Pay off debt. I will first pay off the smallest debt and move on to the largest. I have a page inside my planner designated for tracking.
- Save (blank dollars). I have computed how much I need to save a week to reach my goal, and I have a page in my planner designated for tracking.
- No buy. I will not make impulse purchases of specific items. I will do this in three-month increments and track how I do it.
- I am learning a new style of cursive handwriting. I purchased handbooks and guides and will set aside a few minutes daily for practice. I will track it in my planner.
- I will post to my blog two times a week. I have specific days for writing and publishing blog posts, and I will track them in my planner. I have not decided which days I will post.
Word for 2025 – Optimism
My word for 2025 is optimism. I chose optimism because I am not naturally optimistic. I see the bad in almost everything and must break the habit of pessimistic thinking by leaning into optimism daily.
Tools I Use in 2025
Here is a list of items that I will utilize to help me reach my goals in 2025:
• Book – Holy Bible
• Book – Atomic Habits by James Clear
• Book – Muscle for Life by Mike Matthews
• Planner – Kokuyo Jibun Techo Diary (A5 Slim)
• Health & Wellness Planner – Hobinichi Weeks
• Faith & Gratitude Planner – Hobinichi Cousin (A5)
• Morning Pages Journal – Moleskine Expanded (A5)
• Faith/Prayer Journal – Midori A5
• Journal – Rhodia (A5)
• Fitness – Garmin Smart Watch
• Weight Loss – MyFitness Pal, Renpho Scale, Humbe Body Pod
I did not intend to purchase a lot of planners, but I am glad I found a way to use them. Next year, I will only have one planner, but for now, I will roll with what I have.
Final Words
We can set things in motion by starting right. As a result, we end up where we want to be.
I have been starting over for too long, but this time, the foundation is laid to ensure I achieve my goals.
I believe the primary key to success is mindset, and I will do it because my mind is finally right, and I am ready for change.
