You have finally decided that you will eat a vegan diet. Now what? Where do you start and how do you begin?
You should read Vegan in 30 Days because it steers you in the right direction. No more wondering how you will stop eating meat, chicken, fish, eggs, or dairy or any animal product for that matter.
[pullquote]A vegan is a person who does not eat any animal flesh or animal by-products. [/pullquote]
Sarah Taylor, author of Vegan in 30 Days, has designed a road map just for you. There is no need for you to ever stress about how you will give up your T-Bone steak, fried chicken, red snapper and cheese. Vegan in 30 Days is a common sense approach that will get you where you want to be and that’s ultimately a vegan.
After reading Vegan in 30 Days, I could not help thinking that I should have had this book a long time ago. Maybe I would not have flip-flopped the way I did. Even though I am a vegan, I learned new things from this book.
One thing that Vegan in 30 Days has taught me is how to deal with those who question my way of eating. Sarah, tells you how to handle certain questions. A lot of times my diet is the topic of conversation and sometimes, I do not know how to respond. But now I know exactly how to handle any question or conversation that comes my way.

Success Stories
Before you read any further, you should read a few inspiring success stories from Vegan in 30 Days.
- “The first few weeks are the hardest; everyone thinks you’re crazy, and it seems like everything is made with eggs and dairy. But soon you start feeling more energetic, thinner and better than ever, which makes it all worth while.” ~ Andrea B. – Woodinville, WA
- “Since becoming a vegan, I lost about 10 pounds and lowered my cholesterol by 107 points! While the health aspect is fantastic, it is my love of animals that keeps me vegan. My conscience is clear and I feel good about the example I set for others, even if they do not follow my path.” ~ Corrine W. – Newington CT
- “My pregnancy was stellar because of my vegan diet. I had no morning sickness, I was so comfortable, and I felt great. My newborn was super-healthy. She hasn’t had an ear infection yet and when she gets a cold, she kicks it very quickly. I’m sure that’s because she never had dairy, and doesn’t have a build up of mucus.” ~ Sarah G. – Santa Cruz, CA
- “Every since I adopted a nutrient dense, plant-based eating style I am a changed woman. I have accomplished so much, have so much energy and a whole new outlook on life. I’ve lost 76 pounds so far too!” ~ Isabel P. – Ontariao, Canada
Vegan in 30 days helps you (30 days is a general guide, it may take longer and that’s okay):
(1). To eliminate red meat. You get rid of all red meat that you have in you your house. Donate this food to a food bank.
(2). To start each day with a green smoothie. This is a fruit smoothie with green leafy vegetables added to the mix. I will have a green smoothie everyday.
(3). To find substitutes. Believe it or not, every dish you have ever had with animal based products in them has a plant-based substitute.
(4). To read Diet for a New America. This is the book that inspired the author to stay vegan forever. I am reading this book, among many others.
(5). To eliminate cheese. Many people find it hard to give up cheese. “According to Neal Barnard, MD, in his book Breaking the Food Seduction, this is because cheese may be addictive.” (p. 31)
(6). To do a fruit and veg cleanse. The day before you give up an animal product, the fruit and veg cleanse follows. This is very cleansing and helps you stay focused on your goal.
(7). To stay motivated. You have a list of resources that you can refer to when you need a little lift.
(8). To meet other vegans. Get out and meet other vegans, either in person or online. Meeting other like-minded people helps you stay strong.
(9). To eliminate chicken, fish, and seafood. You can always add your favorite sauces that you would have added to the chicken, fish, or seafood to vegan pasta dishes. This is a great way to have that flavor that you get from eating the animal flesh.
(10). To learn to say “no”. There is no need to explain why you do not certain foods. When offered something that you know you do not eat, just say, “no” and keep on moving.

I don’t know if I could be a vegan (I like meat too much) but I do like the healthy tips. I’d love to do a fruit cleanse.

Hi Evelyn
Very interesting read. I can understand the reasoning behind the book.
My question is if this is a well-balanced diet, this would mean no supplements would need to be taken. Right?
I have always believed it is important to eat healthy and a well-balanced diet. However, just wondered how some things that are removed from the diet would be replaced.
Especially calcium for strong bones. Do you receive your daily amount with nuts, vegies as dairy has been taken from your diet?

Hi Patricia,
Yes, but some people still take supplements to be on the safe side. Those that do take supplements while eating a balanced diet don’t take a lot of supplements. I don’t take many supplements. I always make sure to take B-12 and few herbs. That’s about it.
Yes, I usually eat a variety of foods. These days I am really enjoying pistachios. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by and chiming in!
