3 Surprising Reasons Why Some People Lose Fat Faster than Others

February 15, 2016 by Evelyn Parham

weight-lossHave you ever wondered why some people lose fat faster than others? You are probably thinking that those people who lose fat faster made some major lifestyle changes. Yes, they did, but in this post, I am coming at you from another angle.

Losing fat is more than just making lifestyle changes and sticking with those changes. It is much deeper than you think. Some people start making changes, but only to fall back into old habits. Wonder why this is the case?

Today, I share with you 3 surprising reasons why some people lose fat faster than others.

Reasons Why Some People Lose Fat Faster than Others

Reason #1  You are not ready.

If you are not ready to commit and do what it takes to lose fat, then fat loss will not happen for you.

It does not matter the diet and fitness routine you choose; commitment is key. You may go all out in the beginning, but fall off when things get tough.

You know you are ready when you are fed up with being overweight/obese.

Reason #2 You have not completely let go of emotional/physical pain and hurt.

You were emotionally and physically abused at some time in your life. As a result of the abuse, you carried the pain and hurt for years. Some of you turned to food as a coping mechanism, which led to weight/fat gain.

Acknowledge any pain and hurt you have, address it, and let it go. Seek help in this area from a professional. Letting go of pain and hurt is one of the hardest things to do, but understand that it is something that you must do.

Holding emotional/physical pain and hurt creates a stress response; let it go.

Reason #3 You are comfortable because extra weight/fat serves as your protective armor.

How does extra weight/fat serve as a protective armor? Extra weight/fat helps protect you from being abused by others.

You wear your emotions on the outside, instead of expressing, dealing and letting go. This is how extra weight/fat serves as your protective armor.

You know how much it hurts being overweight, but you dare not let others know how you feel. You put up the tough man/woman persona, but deep down you are not tough; you are fragile.

Holding what you think protects you is unhealthy; let it go.

Conclusion

I see people who have tried for years to lose weight/fat, but with little to no progress. Then I have seen people who are sick and tired of being fat make remarkable progress and transformation.

It is all about what you want. You can do anything you set your mind and will to do. There are barriers that hold some people back that keep them stuck in the same old rut. However, after breaking down those barriers, the results are phenomenal.

  • Be ready for weight/fat loss. (for real)
  • Let go of emotional/physical hurt and pain.
  • Lay down your protective armor.

Get to the cause; there lies the answer.

Hi Evelyn, helpful article. I also loose fat very fast, but I have a feeling, I loose it cause of my gens, My grandma and my maternal aunt are like me , we can not keep extra fats on our bodies for long. I put on 15 kgs of weight during both my pregnancies, but successfully lost it after the exclusive breastfeeding. As you have mentioned here, you need to be ready for fat loss, I waited for 6 months after delivery as baby needs breast-milk and as a new mom you got to eat a lot. after exclusive breastfeeding you are ready for weight loss.
